Sonic Completed!

Happy Friday to you! A couple of nights ago I made the final stitch on the Sonic part of my sonic blanket!

300+ squares and a decent few hours made this what it is.

He stands taller than me (!) so when I do the background I will just do one row top and bottom and then just fill it out.

I have reverted back to crocheting my old neglected black and white striped blanket while I decide on what colour to do the background.

Enjoy your long weekend Kiwis!

  1. yayayayay!

You probably dont even need to do a background colour underneath him, could go straight from black to border colour (which will beee?)

If you're tossing up between light blue / green you could do both and make it like land and sky :o!

    1. I wasn't planning on doing anything underneath him, just filling in the gaps to make a rectangle blanket :) land and sky could be cool! Apparently I need to make gold rings too for that authentic sonic touch.
I still have to weave in all the ends though boo!

  2. The sun's shining on my monitor so I can't really see that well (the curtain rod - and curtains - fell down this morning!), but I like the orangey colour that Sonic is laying on! That could make a cool background? Maybe even striped, like whatever he's lying on? (It occurs to me that it could actually be a wooden floor, not a bed like I originally thought? Yay for sunshine, not so yay for no curtains...)

    1. Oh no poor curtain rod! It is a wooden floor he's on, taken at night time so a bit dark.
It does look quite cool, might have to wander the wool aisles at spotlight :)

  4. Oh my goodness... this is incredible!! You are AMAZING and so talented! Like wow. I'm totally blown away. Sewing is definitely not my talent, which makes me sad because I want a million soft, snuggle blankets for my baby girl but the stress of sewing would put me into labor early, ha ha. But seriously!
